If all the snowflakes...

were candy bars and milk shakes..
Well wouldn't that be nice haha? It would be safe to say that I woke up this morning wishing that anything instead of the disgusting frozen precipitate was falling from the sky. Ok well I mostly wish for sun beams, but who didn't read Cloudy wish a Chance of Meatballs and not with that breakfast would just fall on your porch? But little E might have given me one good reason to love the snow.

We woke up to a snow covered yard and snow flakes falling from the sky.  So naturally, I had to show Ellsie what was going on from the kitchen window. She was so enchanted. Ellie wanted to go "outside" so bad, so we bundled her up and went to play in the fluffy freezingness.  This event alone made the snow worth it. And that should mean a lot coming from me (the self proclaimed sun worshiper).  She got her snow suit on, grabbed her beenie, gloves and boots and was officially the cutest snow angel you ever did see. Have a look yourself of my sweet princess and her big snow day.

Just to make you smile

My current rotation is at Boston Children's hospital in the division of Sports Medicine. It is a dream rotation for any athlete, but considering I never was nor ever will be an athlete per say, I'm drowning.  I work 10-11 hour days and literally do not get a break. They don't even have chairs to sit in. This doctor I'm working for is the official doctor for the Boston Ballet Company, so we see a lot of dancers, which is my claim to fame for the next eight weeks. Too bad I have never had any coordination and my dancing looks more like miming than dancing,.  At least I can appreciate the beauty of it all eventhough I have no idea what positions they are talking about when they start to explain their injury to me. I do know my anatomy though and am getting much better at reading MRIs and X-rays.

I love working with the kids but this rotation is really making me miss my own. Leon is doing a lot of Daddy daughter time these days. He is in the middle of what is known as "J term" which is much easier than a regular semester. Ellie is just going to play with Laine and her girls a few hours here and there, which she loves.  She is such a wild and funny girl these days. She will not stop talking. I don't know what she is saying the majority of the time but boy does she have a lot to say.  She is in love with Elmo and will sing "na na na" song. It is to die for and I need to get it on tape.

Holli took some pictures of the babes at the park one day while we were in California. I just thought that I would share that Ellie smile with those of you too far away to get to enjoy it everyday.

You are the start of all my smiles

Loves to say "Weee!" down the slide

She is such a drama mama, but I love it and just eat it up

Ellsies running bases with Daddy

Oh and baby Brenn the love of Ellie's life haha

Dear Mitt...

Dear Mitt Romney,

I just wanted to say I think your hair is amazing, and your face come to think of it.  I heard your barber is doing really well here in Belmont. You always look so sharp and act so awkward on stage. I love every second of it. It kind of reminds me of my husband and it makes me love you more. Your policies and vision for this country are all that I dream of.  I still think you should run with Glenn Beck to make my dreams come true.  But its your call, Marco Rubio could work too.  I just want you to know that I think you ooze integrity and don't care if you changed your mind a few times. I change my mind all the time, its called maturing. My husband always tells me that when you are faced with new information you have to reevaluate your opinion. I'm cool with you reevaluating your opinion. Plus, I know that you have more character than all the other candidates. If Ann can trust you, so can I big guy.  Just so you know, the Johnson family is behind you all the way to November. We love you.

Best,
Brittany Johnson

Christmas Break

Well here we are back in our Bostonian freezer.  It was hard to believe today, as I tried to find my way around the Boston mbta system, on my way to children's hospital, for my third rotation, in the 20 F weather, that just yesterday I woke up in the Arizona sunshine.  Why did we leave the beautiful weather of the big AZ and the comfort of the loving presence of our families? Well, lets just say I regretted our decision immensely today.  But I'm sure I will grow to love this rotation as I have all my other ones. And I am sure I will figure out the most efficient way to get from point A to point B with the least amount of frostbite as possible soon enough.  And hopefully I will find time to eat somewhere in my crazy day so I don't come home a mad woman haha.

As for our vacation, couldn't have been better. Well the California part couldn't have been better. There was a lot of sick relatives in Arizona and lets be honest healthy is always better than sick.  We took some Christmas mug shots as seen below.

Ellie Belly was an amazing eater on this trip (it must have been the magic high chair). She ate everything and anything that was put in front of her and this is a kid who literally eats like four calories a day.  And most of those calories come from chicken nuggets. But this trip she couldn't get enough fruits and vegetables. She seriously downed like 15 cherry tomatoes at a time. I was so proud of my veggie girl. On my most wanted list is an old wooden high chair.

Speaking of good eats, our entire family went out to our favorite restaurant, Fugi's, for dinner one night. Ellie was in love with the fish out front. And boy was that girl hungry. As soon and the food came out, as high as she could scream, she yelled "Nummy, nummy!!" and flew her body at the stove it was being cooked on. I looked like I starve my child haha. She now refers to all food as nummy. It is so cute. It was so fun to spend an evening with the entire family. Too bad Jake and Holli couldn't have been there the whole time.

In Thatcher Ellie became one with nature and constantly wanted to be "outside, outside". She would grab her coat and always be looking for her shoes so she could go outside. She loved her independence and time chasing after Itchy in the winter sunshine. As you can see, no jacket was necessary because the average temp in AZ was probably 75F. It was ah-mazing. She loved being the big cousin and was uncharacteristically mean to her baby cousin Jesse. Lets just say is is great at saying "sobby" now.

For New Years Eve we bought sparklers and played games. This has got to be the most overrated holiday of all time haha. But Ellie loved the sparklers except when she was a little scared of getting too close. Ellie made it to about 11:45 and then conked out. I had to wake Leon up so he would be able to get his first ever New Years Kiss. Of course Ellie beat me out for the coveted honor, but what else is new lol. Don't worry I got one too.

Daddy's first ever New Year's Kiss

Did I forget to mention the 3 on 3 tourny that Leon looks forward to every year?  The one that is infamously spoken of in our home as the holy grail of basketball and the one my hubby thinks about six months prior considering how he will finally beat those blasted Carters haha. Well he lost in the semi's...again....to the Carters lol.  But we do have a very cute little girl who la la loves to throw balls to her dad on the basketball court. She seriously is nothing less than perfection. It made her dad so happy that she wanted to be his little athlete haha.

All in all we love our families and wish with all our hearts we were closer.  Thank you for everything. We love and miss you all already.

Love US
