RX: A little dose of California PRN

So Leon and I planned a trip to California for presidents day weekend to do some important family things.  Did I have time to do this? Nope. Was it a beautiful weekend that I wouldn't trade for the world? Absolutely.  With finals two weeks away and full time motherhood being my first priority, life has been stressful in the most severe meaning of the word. I mean I have a twitch in my right eye because Im at my wits end most days. Thankfully this weekend is just what the PA ordered and I was reminded of how grateful
I am for the amazing and beautiful life the Lord has so graciously blessed me with.

My sister Holli agreed to take some family pictures of the Johnson brood.  I really wanted to do some by the beach and so pregnant Holli was out there waddling around taking pictures of the family at the beach. I am so grateful for such a loving, giving and talented big sister. Here are some of her beautiful shots. I need to decide which one is going to get blown up to the 16x20 canvas that I need to use from my october groupon purchase lol.

Thank you so much family for the great time and all of the love and support you gave us this weekend. We love you!!

She wore a dress...and it was white

Our perfect angel was blessed on Sunday.  She looked so pretty in Mama's blessing dress and her beautiful bow that Mama made with the help of the local Hobby Lobby.  I figured that since she was wearing a 1980s dress we could spice it up with a chic bow. It was so cute on her I loved it.

Daddy gave  Ellie a beautiful blessing she is truly loved by her parents and extended family.

Grandma Julie, Mimi, Holli, Jax, Jake, Papi, Lisa, Taylor, G, Granny, Jennifer, Carder, Grandma and Grandpa Watkins and Nick all came out to see the princess. It was so fun having everyone here we appreciate everyone for coming.

This is what I found the kids doing in Ellie's crib.  The boys kept telling Elle "Its ok you are my girl..don't cry Ellie you are my girl we aren't going to hurt you". I was laughing so hard. The cousins/uncle are so cute together. I love how much the boys love Ellie they are so cute with her.  Jaxy always wants to sniff her and Carder wants to touch her eyes and shake her bum. Well, family thank you for a wonderful weekend and a perfect Sunday.

The Best Thing About Me

When asked, "What is the best thing about yourself?", a lot of people would say that their eyes, their hair, their personality, their smile, or maybe their carrer is the best thing about themselves, but as I think about all of the amazing things I have been blessed with in my life, these two things are by far the best things about me...

My Husband and daughter are not only the best looking people in our household, but they are also the most fun to be around too. I feel so blessed to have both in my life and am so grateful for the joy that they bring me everyday.
We took Ellie out on the town the other night.  We decided to take the beloved light rail to down town phoenix and go to the artwalk with Leon's best friend Nick.  It had been really cold that week and that night was no exception.  So we bundled the princess and went out on the town.

She was loving watching all of the interesting people on the light rail (who doesn't) and the singing we got to hear at the church.  Elle is a party girl. She stayed out until past ten without one good nap.  She would not even close those precious eyes until she was back in a comfortable environment safe at home with boring people that she knows.

We went out to eat at the Thai Elephant which is delicious if Thai food is your cup of tea. It was an interesting experience because as we waited for our food, we couldn't help but notice this roudy table next to us.  The table was full of men in their late fourties early fifties and they literally were acting like teenagers.  Who can do or say the most obnoxious thing? Well we found out. It was the fifty something man sitting in the middle of the table who decided that it was time to show the whole restaraunt his undies.  He just pulled down his pants and tada. yeah well not so much tada as just ahhhh! But an interesting experience none the less.  Thank goodness the princess was getting her own undies changed so she missed the show but really you are fifty when is it time to just be classy?
Well thank you Phoenix for the good time you always show the Johnson family :)

Law School...

Leon just got his acceptance letters to both Michigan and Columbia Law schools!! Congrats Mr. Johnson your girls are so proud of you!!

Goals

This year The Johnson family decided to set goals for the year and for each month. Our goals consisted of everything from losing all the baby weight (me) to reading the entire standard works (Leon).  We even decided to set goals for baby girl.  One of Leon's goals for Ellie was to sit up on her own.  I thought that might be a little out of reach for our roley poley. And lets be honest I want her to stay a little baby forever. But this is what happens when the Johnsons set goals...
